How many of these "lost pubs" of Hounslow do you remember?

All the pubs shown have closed in recent years, with some becoming restaurants, grocery stores or flats and others being demolished or left lying empty.

The images were collated as part of The Lost Pubs Project , set up to record what it describes as the "decline of the English pub".

The website lists more than 30,000 closed pubs from across England, many with photos of them now or when the beer was still flowing.

According to its founders, there are still 48,000 pubs in England today but four are closing every day - the highest rate since the 1904 Compensation Act saw 10% of pubs forced to close.

The project is an attempt to preserve the memory of these old drinking dens before they are forgotten forever.

If any of these photos gets you all misty-eyed about your old local, or if it's a pub you were glad to see the back of, please share your memories or thoughts.
