Motorists face long delays as traffic is building up in and around Hounslow following an accident earlier this afternoon.

Rush hour traffic is adding to the misery on the roads on Friday (November 11), as the A316 Great Chertsey Road (southbound) entry slip road was closed before 4pm.

There is slow traffic at Twickenham Road, Twickenham and Hampton Road West in Hanworth .

Congestion is all the way back to Whitton Road roundabout and to the M3 J1 (Sunbury) as well as on A312 Uxbridge Road and A314 Hounslow Road.

There is no access onto the A316 from the Apex Corner roundabout in Hanworth.

Traffic is on diversion via Hospital Bridge Roundabout causing long delays in both directions.
