Following the first flakes of snow to fall on London this winter , the capital enjoyed a relatively warm weekend, with temperatures rising up to nine or 10C.

But there’s a fair old chance you will be digging out your thermals and putting them to good use again by the end of this week, with forecasters predicting a wintry blast to return by Friday (December 8), and not shifting anywhere soon.

The Met Office report for London predicts the city will be increasingly cold on Thursday (December 7) and Friday, with occasional wintry showers and a biting wind to boot.

While the current forecast for the capital has highs at 4C on Saturday (December 9), there will be lows of -1C , while the wind chill factor will make it feel even colder.

Through next week, temperatures will remain around 4-5C, it is predicted.
