It's the day everyone has been waiting for after weeks of campaigning - results will be announced for London's Assembly members .

Voters headed to the polls and selected their candidates on the yellow ballot paper for their respective west London areas: West Central , Hillingdon and Ealing , Brent and Harrow and South West.

Candidates will represent their constituencies for the next four years, taking their issues forward to City Hall.

Counting has already begun at Alexandra Palace, with the first of the results to be expected at around "1 or 2pm" according to a City Hall spokesperson.

Hopeful candidates are expected to arrive at the venue throughout the day as they await results from west London constituencies.
