As if seeing the stars of the tennis world strutting their stuff on the Wimbledon courts wasn't enough this summer, now you can even see them while you are having a hot drink.

Modern technology has done a lot for the world, but this Lavazza coffee machine on site at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships , equipped with printing capabilities, is surely one of the most marvellous steps forward for mankind.

Surprisingly detailed pictures of Andy Murray , mother Judy, Rafael Nadal and even Roger Federer can now be immortalised on the froth atop your cappuccinos.

Murray made it through to the third round at Wimbledon by beating Yen-Hsun Lu on Thursday (June 30).

The Ripple Maker coffee machine creates foam designs from miniature coffee extract drops.

Lavazza is an official Wimbledon 2016 partner and has deployed more than 60 service points and 200 coffeemakers for the championships.

The wi-fi enabled device sits next to the coffee maker and prints any image on top of milk-frothed coffee in less than 10 seconds.

Created for retailers, the Ripples website explains how it works: "Make a foam-topped coffee drink by your usual methods."

Then add the "perfect finishing touch" they say, which links to a smartphone to get the desired image.

It continues: "Place the cup on the machine, select an image from the extensive content library or approve your customer’s created design."

The best pictures are clean images with a clean background.

Sadly for those who prefer tea, only beverages topped with frothed milk can be Rippled.
