A 68-year-old man has died after being struck by a Tube train at Ladbroke Grove .

It happened shortly after 8pm on Thursday (May 4) and resulted in major disruption to travel services in the area.

British Transport Police (BTP) attended along with London Ambulance Service, but were unable to save the life of the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

The fatality resulted in the suspension of Hammersmith and City and Circle lines between Edgware Road and Hammersmith between 8.05pm and 9.50pm.

Ladbroke Grove station was also closed.
