Traffic is returning to normal in Chelsea after traffic collision closed a major road during the Monday (August 14) morning rush hour.

Police were called to a collision between van and a motorbike on King’s Road, near the junction with Anderson Street, at 6.39am.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service with injuries not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

The van driver stopped at the scene.

The area was closed to traffic while emergency services attended, with the 11, 19, 22, 221 and 319 buses all put on diversion.

Kensington and Chelsea Police advised motorists to avoid the area, tweeting: "King's Road closed east & west bound between the junctions of Anderson Street & Smith Street due to a collision."

King’s Road reopened to traffic at around 8.15am.
