Police are returning to the scene of a murder in Kilburn, a week after a young woman was gunned down, in a bid to find her killer.

Detectives investigating the murder of Mohanna Abdhou say they have made "substantial progress" but still require the public's help to find the person who shot her.

20-year-old Mohanna Abdhou, who is known as 'Montana' to her friends, was found suffering from gunshot injuries, at around 9pm on Friday May 26 on Malvern Road.

She was enjoying an evening out and was chatting to her friends, near a children's playpark, at the time of the shooting.

The killer, who could still be on the loose, is believed to be local to the area of Kilburn, police say.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "We have had a significant response from the public to this shocking incident and I would like to thank those who have already come forward and assisted the inquiry.

"One week on it is of paramount importance that we trace anyone who is yet to come forward and who holds important information.

"The information held could be vital to putting a name to those responsible for killing Mohanna and this information can be provided in confidence to my officers or direct to ‘Crimestoppers’.

"I believe that those responsible for this attack are likely to be local to the area and would ask anyone who may know something about the suspects identity to come forward.

"Mohanna's family have been left completely devastated by what occurred last week, they and the local community want answers and those responsible caught."

A post-mortem examination on May 27 gave the cause of death as a single gunshot wound.

Police enquiries have so far established that Mohanna and her friends were approached by two males on bicycles.

The suspects were both wearing dark coloured clothing and had their faces covered.
