Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a sex worker in her flat in Kilburn.

On Monday (May 29) a 31-year-old woman was found dead at an address in Fernhead Road after Met police were called shortly before 1am.

Officers believe they know the identify of the woman deceased and the next-of-kin have been informed.

On Saturday (June 3) a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody at a west London police station.

A post-mortem examination on Wednesday (May 31) concluded and have the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

Police said the victim was in the Kilburn area on May 22, but need to understand her movements from this date.

Enquires are ongoing to establish the motive of the attacker.

It is believed the motive may be linked to the victim being a sex worker, officers said.
