A man is in a "life-threatening condition" after his scooter was involved in an early morning collision with a car in Kilburn.

The smash happened at around 3.30am on Wednesday (November 29) at the junction of Kilburn High Road and Belsize Road.

The rider, who is believed to be in his late twenties, was taken by London Ambulance Service to a north London hospital.

He remains in "life-threatening condition," said the Metropolitan Police.

A spokesman from the force said: "The driver of the car involved in the collision stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."

The accident happened at the junction between Kilburn High Road and Belsize Road

It was added officers from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit and Central North police continue to deal the incident.

Kilburn High Road was temporarily closed in both directions and reopened at around 7.30am.
