A crowdfunding page set up in the memory of murdered Josh Hanson has raised over £25,000 since being set up last Thursday (October 15).

The 21-year-old from Kingsbury was murdered in a bar in Eastcote on Sunday (October 11) morning and police have since offered a £10,000 reward in the search for Shane O'Brien, who they urgently want to speak to regarding the incident.

A Go Fund Me page was set up by Josh's family along with a Facebook page and the Twitter hashtag, #JusticeForJoshHanson.

The fundraising campaign has since raised over £25,000 of the £30,000 target, with money raised going towards funeral costs and to "help keep his memory alive with our pending 'Justice for Josh Hanson' Charity."

Just over 600 people have donated to the campaign, in the six days that the page has been active with tributes and comments still flooding in.

One donator said: “This just shouldn't happen, I can't give you anything to ease the pain, but say love each other look after each other and may your beautiful boy and brother rest in peace x.”

Another read: "RIP Josh. We hope the campaign to stamp out knife crime goes from strength to strength and that Josh is remembered forever. X"

The Go Fund Me page reads: “Not only was Josh a hardworking man usually working 7 days a week he was loving, caring and funny.

“He was an angel with a big heart helping and supporting his family and friends was something he did naturally without a seconds thought. He had just left the hospital with his girlfriend after visiting her father and was on his way to meet family and friends.

“Josh has left behind a Mother and Sister who he supported and would be rallying around for anyone else in this tragic situation.

“Please continue to keep his memory alive as we shall, his beautiful kindness had no bounds and he would want us all to continue helping others.

'Knowing you are all behind us gives us so much comfort'

In an update on Thursday (October 22) Josh's mother, Tracey Hanson said: “Yesterday was surreal and emotionally draining for both Brooke and I.

“Having to go through what we did yesterday appealing to the public made it somehow more real that my son Josh will never be coming back.

“To see my daughter being so strong and brave tore me apart, watching her bravery and resolve gave me the strength to push forward in helping to try and get justice for Josh.

“Today has more challenges for us and just knowing that you are all behind us gives us so much comfort, we will make him proud.”

Police continue to hunt for Shane O'Brien, 27, from Ladbroke Grove, who they want to speak to in connection with Josh's killing. Officers have put forward a £10,000 reward for any information leading to his arrest.
