A Facebook troll from Brent who threatened to bomb an MP's home over air strikes in Syria has been jailed for eight weeks.

Craig Wallace, of Teignmouth Road, Willesden Green , launched a volley of online abuse at Charlotte Leslie in early December after the Conservative MP for Bristol North West voted in favour of military action against the so-called Islamic State terrorist group in Syria.

"I'm going to smash her windows then drop a bomb on her house while she's tucked up in bed," wrote the 23-year-old, who uses the internet alias Muhammad Mujahid Islam.

Wallace, who reportedly converted to Islam while imprisoned for attempted robbery, was arrested at his home on December 5 and admitted sending malicious communications.

He was sentenced at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 30 to eight weeks imprisonment. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.
