Traffic came to a standstill in Shepherd’s Bush after a lorry carrying a crane jack knifed.
It happened this morning (February 10) shortly before 7.30am near the roundabout at Shepherd’s Bush Green.
Police were at the scene and have closed several roads and junctions. Officers are directing traffic away from the area.
Lewis Hickey described the “commotion” he saw when he stepped out of Shepherd’s Bush overground station. He said: “At first I thought someone had been injured, but then it looked like the pick up truck had crashed. The whole of Uxbridge Road was at a standstill.
“It was packed, the whole thing was rammed, the traffic wasn’t moving at all. There was a huge commotion. Police had blocked both sides of Uxbridge Road.”
Police say no-one was hurt. The road was fully reopened at 12.30pm.
