Scotland Yard say officers were called to reports of a fight between two groups shortly after 3.30pm.

When police arrived they found the wounded male, who was pronounced died a short time later at the scene.

No arrests have yet been made, and the road, which had been entirely sealed off while officers and forensic teams scoured the area , reopened at around 8pm on Tuesday (September 5).

One person at home in Rosebery Road knew nothing of the incident until she heard sirens screaming near her home.

She said she saw lots of police, as well as the ambulance and air ambulance, which had landed at nearby Murray Park.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, said: “I saw seven paramedics working on him and trying to save him.

"I think the person was in the house.

“Paramedics came out with him and we are working on him outside the house on the stretcher. They were really trying hard to save him, credit where credit is due.

“Then some fireman turned up with tarpaulin while they carried on working on him.

"We then saw the paramedics talking to each other and the ambulance didn’t rush to hospital so we thought he had obviously passed away.

“When I realised he’d gone it was quite sad.

“It’s a bit of a shock.”

Another nearby resident said there was a growing problem in the area.

The man, who also asked to remain anonymous, was walking his dog near Rosebery Road and saw emergency services sealing off the area.

He said: “It seems to be getting worse around here, there are lots of incidents.

“From what I see just seems to be gangs and young kids everywhere.

No cars are allowed to enter or leave the road

“It’s worrying big-time, my dad is old and I’ve told him to stay at home and not walk the dog, I would rather do it.

“From what I know they haven’t caught anyone yet which is a bit worrying.”

A different woman, who did not give her name, agreed.

She said: “You often hear lots of shouting here at 2am or 3am

"We stay inside because we don’t want to get involved.”

The Air Ambulance landed in Murray Park

She said she also saw paramedics with the patient and holding a drip while they tried to save his life, before seeing a silver sheet placed over the victim.
