A DJ duo from Isleworth have been recognised at the BritAsia TV World Music Awards which celebrates the best of British Asian music and talent.

Brothers Jat and Jaz, also know as Kray Twinz, took home the award for Best DJ, alongside being nominated in the Best Music Video category at the awards which were held at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on March 4.

This latest recognition follows a string of awards including a nomination for Best Video Game Soundtrack at the 2006 MTV Awards, for their work on the EA sports game Fight Night.

The brothers, who are in their early thirties, are thrilled to have been recognised for their work: "It’s amazing to be recognised for our work, we have been in the game a long time, and have had some big hits worldwide" they told getwestlondon.

Adding: "We started off as DJ’s and have performed around the world, this has always been our passion which went on into music production and our fan base has just grown ever since.

"We are really thankful to everyone who has voted for us and continue to support us in our musical journey."

In December 2015, Kray Twinz released their latest single, My World, which shot to number 2 on the Worldwide iTunes Chart and the Official Asian Music Chart.

Jat and Jaz grew up in Coventry and their work spans the genres of House, Bhangra, Hip Hop and R&B.

Debuting into the world of music at the age of just 13, the twins are best known for their work with Panjabi MC, alongside working with the likes of Jay-Z, Sting, Mark Morrison and Keyshia Cole.

And if you thought that was impressive enough, the twins have also worked within the Holywood film industry, on productions such as Sean Bean's 2010 action film, Cash, which they created the title song for.

And it looks like 2017 could be another big year for the pair, who told getwestlondon : "We have lots of new music we are releasing this year so watch this space."
