Seven people escaped a home in Bayswater unharmed after a fire broke out.

London Fire Brigade was called to the blaze at the property in Craven Hill on Thursday afternoon (June 11) at around 5.15pm.

Seven people managed to escape before firefighters arrived and no one was injured.

Station manager Lee Sparks, who attended the fire, said: “The fire was at the top of the building and crews worked quickly to confine it to the top floor and mansard roof, using a turntable ladder and an aerial ladder platform.”

The third floor of the building and the roof were partly damaged by the blaze.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters from Paddington, North Kensington, West Hampstead and Kensington fire stations attended the incident. They brought the fire under control by 6.50pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
