A road severely damaged following a burst water main in Ickenham has re-opened six days after it was closed.
Repair work was completed over the weekend on Breakspear Road South after further investigation by workmen from Affinity Water and Hillingdon council on Friday (January 6) revealed the road surface conditions were worse than expected.
The road was closed on Wednesday (January 4) and remained closed until Monday (January 9).
Residents woke up to little or no water on Wednesday (January 4) after the supply was turned off as the burst water main caused severe flooding in the area.
Police posted a photo of a large sink hole which opened up in the aftermath of the incident.
A spokesman for Affinity Water said: "The road has been repaired and is now reopen.
"We would like to thank our customers and commuters for their patience whilst repairs were carried out."
