A large cannabis factory which was discovered in Bedfont has been shut down by police .

Around 400 plants were found at an address in Southville Close on Saturday (March 11).

A helicopter and police dogs were called out to search for suspects who had made off from the premises.

The result comes after officers followed lines of enquiries from information the local community.

Feltham Police Team tweeted in the early hours of Sunday (March 12): "Bedfont officers shut down a cannabis factory armed with information from the local community."

PC Andrew Davies, of Bedfont police team, said: "The result is getting drugs off the street. It's our primary goal.

"It will have made a big dent in the supply chain in Bedfont.

"We are working together with the community to take drugs off the streets."

Police enquiries are still ongoing.
