A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the shoulder and neck in Hounslow .

At around 5.52pm on Thursday (October 5), police were called to Central Avenue following reports of a stabbing.

Officers discovered a young male victim who had suffered multiple stab wounds at the scene.

An air ambulance landed at the nearby Chatsworth School, in Heath Road, to rush the victim to a west London hospital.

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police said that they await updates on his condition.

They said: "Police were called at approximately 17:52hrs to an address in Hounslow following reports of a stabbing.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service colleagues attended and discovered a man, aged in his 20s, suffering from stab wounds to the shoulder and neck," the spokesman added.

"He has been conveyed to a west London hospital. We await an update on his condition.

"There have been no arrests. Officers remain at the scene."

Central Avenue remains closed following the stabbing and motorists have been urged to avoid the area.

A witness on Central Avenue, Jas Thandi, of Heath Road, said that he saw "a lot of blood" after the stabbing.

"A man was bleeding from head and hands," the local resident said.

"A lot of blood was on the floor near the bus stop in Central Avenue."

"[I] overheard police saying stab wounds to head and hands, then a helicopter flew over and landed in Chatsworth School," he added.

"The man was alive and awake when I left the area."
