Hundreds of homes are without power on Sunday morning (December 10) during the first snow fall of the winter.

Electricity supplier SSE lists power cuts in 65 postcodes in Hounslow on its website, reported at around 9am.

Residents took to twitter to report the outage.

Twitter user Sabel Khaan posted: "Making tea the old fashioned way on the hob with matches. No power in Hounslow this morning. @ssencommunity are on it!"

SSE confirmed a power outage at 65 postcodes in the TW4 and TW5 areas.

Up to 1,200 Hounslow households were left without power

SEE confirmed there were around 1,200 households without power this morning with 500 customers still off the grid at around 12.30pm.

It is not currently clear if the outage was caused by wintry weather conditions.

“A fault with the network infrastructure” was to blame the company said.

SSE social media team responds to residents

Scottish and Southern Electricity networks have apologised to residents who are left without power in Hounslow. In a tweet to @yowamushipunk the SSE social media team wrote:

Power is expected to be restored by 2pm, SEE wrote.
