A Hounslow cop has been dismissed without notice for being abusive towards a 999 call operator and using racial slurs.

Metropolitan Police officer PC Seni Gulati, based in Hounslow, was kicked off the force following a misconduct hearing, held in public, on Friday (March 10).

A file was prepared for special case hearing and the panel found the alleged breaches proven and dismissed the officer without notice.

Mr Gulati had previously pleaded guilty to malicious communication on January 11, 2017, at Staines Magistrates Court.

He was sentenced to a 12 month community order, 120 hours of unpaid work, £85 costs and a £800 victim surcharge.

PC Seni Gulati based in Hounslow dismissed for being verbally abusive towards a 999 call operator

The dismissal comes after an incident on July 3, 2016 when Mr Gulati had called for an ambulance after his fiancée was injured at a golf venue in Surrey.

He was abusive towards the call operator, and staff at the venue who were assisting his fiancée.

A complaint was made the next day to Surrey Police who investigated and subsequently summonsed the serving police officer to court.

His conviction was considered a breach of Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of Discreditable Conduct and of Authority, Respect and Courtesy and the racially motivated language used in the 999 call was considered to be a breach in respect of Equality and Diversity.
