A child has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a bus in Hounslow on Tuesday (September 12) morning.

Police were called to Hanworth Road shortly before 8am to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a bus on Hanworth Road.

Police say a boy, thought to be 12, was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital. Scotland Yard was unable to give an update on his condition.

It incident happened near the junction with Inwood Road, with Hanworth Road at 7.56am, and the road is currently closed in both directions up to School Road.

Transport for London (TfL) is advising motorists to seek an alternative route,

The closure of the road has led to the diversion of buses, with the 281 route among those affected.

No arrests have been made.
