A candlelight vigil for Jo Cox is to be held in Hounslow on Saturday (June 25).

The memorial for the Labour MP, who was shot and stabbed to death while holding a surgery in her West Yorkshire constituency, will take place at Bell Corner, at the western end of Hounslow High Street, at 3pm.

Well-wishers will be able to light candles, sign a book of condolence and donate to Jo Cox's Fund, which was set up in her memory to continue the late MP's good work.

The vigil follows remembrance ceremonies in Trafalgar Square, Leeds and around the globe on Wednesday (June 22), when she would have celebrated her 42nd birthday.

It will take place during the Night of Festivals carnival, being held in the town centre during Saturday and Sunday.

Councillor Corinna Smart, Hounslow Council 's cabinet member for culture and leisure services, will lead the ceremony.

Hounslow MPs Seema Malhotra and Ruth Cadbury , who were friends and colleagues of Ms Cox, will also be among those present at the vigil, which is supported by Hounslow Friends of Faith and local community groups.
