Hundreds of affordable homes have been promised as part of new development in the heart of Hounslow .

Work on the Hounslow High Street Quarter development is set to begin in September this year with residents benefiting from a number of new facilities once the project is complete.

The development will feature a multiscreen cinema, shops, restaurants and eateries as well as new homes, around 216 of them affordable.

Around 216 units will be affordable homes

According to Hounslow Council, in keeping with their aim to build more affordable homes in the borough, 41% of the 527 residential homes delivered by Barratt Homes will be affordable.

"The regeneration in our borough is continuing to gather pace and we are all excited at the new developments" said deputy leader of Hounslow Council, Councillor Amrit Mann.

The development is set to be complete by 2020

He added: "These are part of our commitments we have made to build and provide more good quality homes, including affordable homes and support economic growth and improve our town centres.

"We will also ensure there is the minimum disruption and residents can continue to use and park at our town centres as normal."

The development is expected to be complete by 2020.
