As the Queen celebrates her actual 90th birthday, Hounslow is already preparing to party for Her Majesty's official birthday this June.

A beacon in Lampton Park, Hounslow , will be one of more than a thousand to be lit across the country in honour of the Queen's latest milestone on Thursday, April 21.

But the real celebrations will take place around her official birthday, which this year falls on Saturday, June 11.

Seven large street parties across the borough have already been approved by Hounslow Council to toast Her Majesty's birthday.

The council has invited people to apply for small grants for additional street parties ahead of the deadline of Monday, May 23.

The grants are available for any type of community event, not just parties to celebrate the Queen's birthday, and a second round of applications closes on Monday, July 4.

The street parties approved already are:

  • Friends of Beaversfield Park, Hounslow: for and around Saturday, June 11
  • Hounslow Multicultural Centre, Hounslow: date TBC
  • Wellington Day Centre, Hounslow: Saturday, June 25
