A motorcyclist is in hospital in a serious but stable condition after colliding with a car on Staines Road in Hounslow .

The crash took place during rush hour at around 6pm on Monday (September 18) on the busy road, which was closed by police in both directions.

The motorcyclist is believed to have sustained a serious leg injury in the crash.

Police were called to the crash at 6.04pm and established a crime scene, which was closed at 6.39pm.

The road was closed between Munster Avenue and Frampton Road but reopened in both directions at around 8pm.

TfL had to divert buses on routes 116, 117, 235, 237 and 423 while police and London Ambulance Service dealt with the collision.

No other people are thought to have been injured in the crash.
