The man who died after being hit by a Piccadilly line train at Hounslow Central station was 34-years-old police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the London Underground station in Hounslow just after 10.15am on Wednesday (March 1), after reports a person had been struck by a train.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said today (Friday March 3) "A 34-year-old man died.

"His death is not being treated suspiciously."

The tube station was closed, and there was no access in both directions in Lampton Road for at least an hour, while the incident was dealt with.

Delays continued on the Piccadilly line until after 3.30pm.

It was the second fatality this week, after a man in 60s was hit by a train and killed at Hounslow East underground station on Monday (February 27).

British Transport Police also said it was not treating the Hounslow East incident as suspicious.
