Businesses from across Hounslow are being encouraged to join an initiative aimed at reducing crime in the borough.

Safer Business Hounslow, which launched at the Treaty Centre, already has 60 Hounslow members and is looking to extend the network to Feltham, Isleworth, Chiswick and Brentford.

Previously called Hounslow Business Against Crime, the not-for-profit scheme brings together retailers, licensed premises and other businesses alongside CCTV operators, local police and the council in a bid to work together to reduce crime.

Hounslow's shopping centres, the Treaty Centre, Blenheim Centre and The Centre Feltham, are already a part of the scheme.

"Sharing information is key to the success of crime reduction partnerships like Safer Business Hounslow," said chair of Safer Business Hounslow and Treaty Centre manager, Janet Leatherland.

She added: "The more businesses that join up, the more positive results we will see.

"This will benefit Hounslow and our local community."
