Hounslow bus incident

Police presence at Whitton Road, Hounslow

A police investigation was launched after a bus was targeted by a moped spraying a fire extinguisher.

Passengers were evacuated from the 281 bus on Whitton Road in Hounslow and the driver treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police said two people on mopeds had discharged a fire extinguisher.

The road was partly closed off while emergency services dealt with the "chemical incident".

Police enquiries continue after a male jogger pushed a woman into the path of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge.

A man was arrested on Thursday (August 10) in connection with the incident but has since been released with no further action.

The incident happened on Friday May 5 at 7.40am when a 33-year-old woman escaped with minor injuries.

The jogger is described as a white man, aged early to mid 30s, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a light grey t-shirt and dark blue shorts.

What makes the best school in west London?

A school in Hounslow with a glowing Oftsed report was rated the best school in west London.

According to the Real Schools Guide 2017, St Mark's Catholic School in Hounslow topped the ranks coming in 21st place out of 3,088 state-funded secondary schools in the country.

We took a look at its latest Ofsted inspection where it was awarded an "outstanding" in every category to find out what makes it the best.

It was praised for having parents as "co-educators", ethnic cohesion, attitudes and stepping in when a child is not on track and more.

"The school has achieved a near perfect balance of ensuring that pupils make great progress and attain high standards but at the same time develop into well-rounded, independent, caring, courteous and upright citizens," the report said.

Marks and Spencer opening date

Shoppers were clearly all excited about the news of a Marks and Spencer foodhall opening at the end of the month in Greenford.

Creatiing 55 jobs in Westway Cross Retail Park , the grand opening date was announced as Wednesday August 30 at 10am.

The store will open seven days a week and will offer free parking.

It received a mixed reaction from people in the area from "noooo" to "can't wait".
