A hotel in Hounslow has been sold for nearly £12m, it has been reported.

Travelodge, in Lampton Road, near Hounslow Central tube station, was bought by CBRE Global Investors for £11.8m, according to Knight Frank, which said it had disposed of the freehold on behalf of a private investor.

The 128-room hotel, which opened in February 2013, is let to Travelodge Hotels for £590,181 a year, with 33 years left on the lease, the property consultancy firm said.

The distinctive cylindrical-fronted Travelodge was built on the site of the old Granada Hotel, which closed in 2008 and was a popular haunt for squatters until its demolition.
