Osterley House in Hounslow is to close for four days while scenes for Horrible Histories are filmed there.

The 18th century building will close from next Monday (October 3) to next Thursday (October 6) for filming and photography.

The park will remain open as normal during this time and the entire property will be open as normal again from next Friday (October 7).

The National Trust, which manages the estate, said the Georgian mansion would be closed to allow filming for the CBBC show Horrible Histories to take place. It also said it would be shooting images for its new guidebook.

Horrible Histories has become a firm favourite with children, and a fair few adults, for its humorous and irreverent take on past events which wallows in the gruesome goings on of yore.

getwestlondon reported earlier this year how scenes for the ITV drama Doctor Thorne had been filmed at Osterley House.

At the beginning of August, we revealed how filming for Transformers: The Last Knight, starring Mark Wahlberg, was taking place at Syon Park in Brentford.
