A 61-year old man has been identified among the 80 victims who died during the Grenfell Tower fire.

Hamid Kani's formal identification comes after a vigil was held for all of those who were killed during the tragedy which happened four weeks ago .

The family of Mr Kani said in a statement: "Hamid will always be remembered for his wit, compassion and devotion to his family and friends.

"No words can express our sorrow for his loss and the way he left us.

"He will always be part of our lives and his memory will live on."

Hundreds of mourners, many in tears, slowly filed down a wall plastered in tributes on Wednesday (July 12) in Kensington as dusk fell in a vigil to the victims four weeks after the disaster.

Pictures, flowers and handwritten messages are wrapped around swathes of the area, illuminated by candles.

The number of people believed to have died in the Grenfell Tower remains at around 80, police said earlier this week.

An update on the tragedy by Scotland Yard on Monday (July 10) afternoon revealed 255 people survived the blaze.
