A road near Perivale Station was blocked on Wednesday (January 18) after a lorry collided with a rail bridge in the early hours of the morning.

Transport for London (TfL) first reported that the HGV had hit the bridge in Horsenden Lane South at around 7.30am and urged drivers to use another route.

Traffic had built up along the street because of the closure, but TfL announced the road had reopened at around 9.40am.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "It was a damage only collision.

"We were called at 2.48am to Horsdenden Lane South to reports of a lorry in collision with a bridge.

"No reports of injuries and no arrests.

"The road was closed and reopened at 9.30am."
