A determined mum-of-two from Hounslow diagnosed with terminal liver cancer is fundraising to receive alternative treatment as she fights for her life.

Hairdresser Sharlene Dillet (nee Brown), 34, was given the devastating news in October last year, shortly after the heartbreak of losing baby daughter Frankie Marie Dillet in the womb.

Mum to Elise aged 10, and Georgia aged two, she along with her husband Wayne, who lived in Hounslow all their lives up until a few years ago when they moved to Old Windsor.

The couple who both work in Weybridge are staying strong with the first round of chemotherapy completed at St Lukes in Guildford.

They are now waiting to discuss alternative treatment, not available on the NHS, with London Oncology in Harley Street which could cost in excess of £50,000.

The family were shocked when Sharlene was given three months to live without treatment or 12 months with.

Mr Dillet, who works in recruitment, said: "This devastating news came shortly after Sharlene and myself Wayne lost our baby daughter Frankie Marie Dillet in the womb after a very difficult pregnancy.

"Having married in only April 8th last year Sharlene and myself should have had an incredible first year of marriage welcoming our new baby, instead we had to lay to rest baby Frankie and find a way to break the news to Sharlene’s two young daughters that mummy had cancer.

"An inconceivable task for us but we found the courage to face despite our own heartache.

"We will continue to raise as much money as we can to see if we can give Sharlene extra time with our beautiful children or even find a cure."

Fundraising is well under way with a recent event at the Hounslow Conservative Club raising £15,000.

With online donations from the justgiving page this takes the total so far to over £30,000.

Mr Dillet added: "Sharlene is doing okay. She suffers with exhaustion so has to rest a lot throughout the day.

"She is a very happy and positive person and always tries to put a brave face on things."
