Harrow residents showed their support for the Armed Forces during a special flag raising ceremony on Monday (June 22).
Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Krishna Suresh, hoisted the Armed Forces flag outside Civic Centre.
The ceremony was also attended by 131 Independent Commando Squadron (Royal Engineers), veterans from the Royal British legion and the Gurkha Community.
Cllr Krishna Suresh said: “I am proud to have raised the Armed Forces flag for Harrow today to show our support for serving and ex-serving members of our forces.
“It is a chance for all of us to pause to remember and honour our soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, veterans and cadets.
“They enable us to live our lives in peace, something we should all be grateful for. So it is important they are shown gratitude for their bravery, courage and sacrifices to protect our freedoms.”
The Armed Forces flag will fly until Monday (June 29), after National Armed Forces Day on Saturday (June 27).
