Businesses based close to the spot where a teen was stabbed have spoken of their sadness following his death.
Police have launched a murder investigation after life support was withdrawn from 19-year-old Hussein Ahmed from Edgware on Wednesday (November 23).
He had been stabbed on Northolt Road , outside Kebabish takeaway near South Harrow Tube station, on Friday (November 18).
Four men had been previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Arumugam Yoganathan, owner of Chicken Hut, a few doors down from Kebabish, described Hussein as “a good boy”.
He said: “I didn’t know him by name but he was always hanging around the front of the shop.
“He was a good lad. Compared to others he was a good boy. This is sad to hear.”
Sue Cohen, who works nearby, said her heart went out to the victim’s parents.
She said: “It’s absolutely tragic. I keep thinking of the parents getting a knock on the door.
“Other than that its just becoming too common. This area has just gone downhill over the past 10 years or so.
“There’s fights all the time and sirens. It’s not a nice place to be anymore.”
Another person working near the scene of the stabbing, who did not wish to be named, said: “I’m very sad to hear what’s happened.
"Losing such a young life is very, very bad. I don’t know who it was but I feel really bad for the family.
“At the end I feel there should be more police control around the area, maybe that would help.”
Police believe Hussein died from a single stab wound.
A post-mortem is due to take place at Northwick Park Hospital mortuary today (Thursday November 24).
It is thought that he was attacked by a group of males, all of whom are described as black and believed to be aged in their teens or 20s.
Four men, aged in their late teens or early 20s, had been arrested on Monday (November 21), on suspicion of attempted murder and released on bail until early December after being questioned at a north London police station.
