A Harrow School student has died after an alleged assault outside a holiday nightclub.

Gifted sportsman Archie Lloyd, 18, was punched in a drunken row in Malia as he awaited his A-level results, Greek police allege.

The Harrow pupil is believed to have refused treatment and returned to his hotel after the attack but was found dead by friends soon after.

He is understood to have been holidaying with friends in Sissi, four miles from the notorious party town on the Greek island of Crete, as he celebrated leaving the £36,000-a-year school.

He was a talented cricketer and footballer and played for the school’s 1st team in both sports.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can confirm the death of a British national on August 6. We are providing consular assistance to the family."

Thousands of young Brits flock to Malia every summer to enjoy the island's nightlife.

Sebastian Trabucatti, 22, from East Grinstead, West Sussex, has been charged with "gross negligence leading to manslaughter" and has been released on police bail.

The promoter and male model denies causing the death after the incident on August 6 outside Cloud Nine nightclub.
