Fire crews remain at the scene, "damping down", following a severe fire in Harrow Road which hit shops and flats in Westbourne Park on the morning of Friday, February 24.

A spokesman from the London Fire Brigade said that firefighters are "still on the scene damping down, but the fire has been put out."

London Fire Brigade were called to the scene at 8.45 on the morning of February 24, to a fire at a shop with flats above it.

Ten fire engines and over 72 firefighters tackled the blaze at its height.

North Kensington, Paddington, Kensington and West Hampstead were among the fire crews in attendance.

London Fire Brigade has described the damage as "excessive" and one witness recalled people coming out of the flats "looking pretty scared."

According to Transport for London (TfL), the A404 Harrow Road remains closed in both directions.

There are no reports of anyone being injured.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
