A 25-year-old man has been jailed for possession with intent to supply cannabis resin.

Qais Naeemi, of Farmstead Road, Harrow, was given a six-month suspended sentence after pleading guilty at Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday (April 8).

On September 14 2013, officers issued a warrant to search Naeemi's address, where a large quantity of herbal cannabis was discovered along with other drug paraphernalia.

Naeemi was then arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and charged.

As well as a six-month suspended sentence, Naeemi must also undergo treatment for drug dependency and pay a surcharge of £80.

PC Michael McGuirk said: "This is a good result for the community of Harrow and another example of the extent that Harrow police will go to to rid the streets of those intent on breaking the law.

"Our pursuit against criminality is relentless as we aim to make Harrow the safest borough in London."
