A drug dealer who tried to dump the heroin and cocaine he was selling while being chased by police has been jailed for nearly three years.

Shakrukh Khan was spotted by officers on the streets of Wealdstone selling the Class A drugs in August last year. When officers intervened, Khan, from Station Road, Harrow, dropped a package and scarpered.

However, after a pursuit, he was caught in a garden in Hindes Road where he was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. The dropped package was later recovered and found to contain 20 wraps of cocaine and heroin.

The 21-year-old appeared at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday last week (Jan 13) where he admitted a charge of possession with intent to supply and received a 34-month prison sentence.

PC Fran Shepherd of Harrow Police said: "There is no hiding place for drug dealers in Harrow and we won’t have drugs being sold on our streets. Let this be a warning to those intent on breaking the law that we will target them, and go on targeting them, in our drive to make Harrow the safest borough in London."
