A car collision which caused the death of a passenger in the early hours of this morning is being investigated by police.

Police were called at 3.50 am on Sunday, May 31 to reports of a blue Ford Focus colliding with three stationary vehicles in The Mall, Harrow according to a Met Police statement.

London Ambulance Service, Fire Brigade and Met Police all attended the scene, finding the five occupants of the Ford Focus with injuries.

One of the passengers, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed with formal identification and a post-mortem scheduled to take place in due course.

Another passenger, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The two remaining passengers and the driver were also taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be serious.

The driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen the car prior to the incident or who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
