Police have closed down a Harrow brothel after a string of complaints from locals in the area.

Marlborough Safer Neighbourhoods Team arrived at the brothel on Harrow View in the Marlborough Ward on Tuesday (April 12) at 12am.

Police say they were getting around nine calls from locals a week, detailing anti-social behaviour and sexual acts committed on car bonnets in the driveway.

When police arrived they found 11 girls working and advertising their services on a sex website, where various men would turn up at all hours of the day.

The girls would greet the men at the door and charge for their services.

In a joint effort with the Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Harrow Council, the girls have been evicted.

Police said, when arriving at the property, they found condoms all over the floor and as they walked in, saw someone giving oral sex to a customer.

While many complaints have been submitted by local residents, Marlborough Safer Neighbourhoods Team say that as the girls were consenting and the girls were changing up after every police visit, it was difficult to take action.

Sergeant Simon Fretwell, of Marlborough Safer Neighbourhoods Team, told getwestlondon: "From the dedication and hard work of my officers we have been able to stand down and eliminate this type of behaviour on patch.

“I would also like to thank colleagues from Harrow Council who have provided us with a long term solution and ensured local residents can live more safely and securely.”

Since today's action, the premises is now closed and has been bordered up, with follow up action to be taken by the council.

Harrow Borough Commander Simon Ovens said: “Responding to concerns from our community we have gained a successful resolution and dealt with this type of behaviour robustly.

“My officers have worked closely with our partners at Harrow Council and this type of work contributes to ensuring we remain the safest borough in London.
