The man who was shot dead in the street in Harlesden last night has been named locally as James Owusu-Ajyekum.

Armed officers and paramedics were called to the scene in Tynsdale Road at around 10.45pm on Wednesday (November 2) after reports of a shooting.

There has been an outpouring of grief from friends and family of Mr Owusu-Ajyekum.

The 22-year-old was gunned down on his doorstep in front of his mother by two men, reports the Evening Standard .

The shooting took place near to where 27-year-old Oliver Tetlow was gunned down in March.

There is no suggestion the shootings are linked.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information after the tragic killing.

Mr Owusu-Ajyekum's next of kin have been informed but formal identification and a post-mortem examination have yet to take place.

No arrests have currently been made but police are continuing to investigate.
