Two men will be sentenced next month (August) after admitting to grappling and stealing jewellery from a woman in broad daylight.

Junior Morgan, from North Kensington , and Dean McFarlane, from Earl’s Court , pleaded guilty to robbery at Southwark Crown Court on July 18.

The pair attacked a 40-year-old woman on the driveway of a property in Westbourne Park Villas in Bayswater on March 1 at 12.45pm.

One of the men forced his hand over the victim’s mouth while the other ripped off a ring from her hand worth approximately £11,000.

The men, both 37, then fled the scene in a hire car, which was later traced to Morgan, who had flogged the ring to Hatton Garden jeweller just hours after the offence.

Unfortunately for the victim, the ring had been broken down by the time police were able to recover it.

Both men were arrested on March 30, where clothing matching that worn on the day of the robbery and paperwork in relation to the hire of the car they used to escape after the robbery, were found at their addresses.

Their guilty pleas came at the same day and court a man was jailed for a similar but separate offence.

Carlton Walker, 35, of no fixed abode, attacked a 58-year-old woman in Clifton Hill, London NW8 with another man on September 14 last year.

Dean McFarlane, from Earls Court

The man grabbed her as she got out of a car, covered her mouth and put an arm around her neck until she passed out.

When she came round a short time later one of the men was punching her around the face and head, and she felt her earrings, rings and bangle being pulled from her.

They fled after nearby people heard the victim’s screams for help. Walker’s accomplice remains unidentified.

Speaking afterwards, Detective Sergeant Vince Abrahart from Westminster Crime Squad , said: “These men committed extremely violent robberies on unsuspecting women who they specifically targeted so they could steal high value jewellery.

“They were ruthless and showed no consideration for the victims who as well as losing personal items, were left highly traumatised.

“The investigation to identify those responsible was complex and very thorough. Over the course of our enquiries over 700 hours of CCTV was seized and watched to identify the suspects, and present that evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service, which has ultimately led to these convictions and the removal of dangerous criminals from the streets.”

Morgan and McFarlane will be sentenced at the same court on August 30.

Anyone whop knows who Walker’s accomplice is can call police on 020 7321 7793, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
