A company with headquarters close to Grenfell Tower, which was devastated by a deadly blaze on Wednesday (June 14), has donated £100,000 to the victims of the fire.

Monsoon Accessorize, a British retail company based in west London, was among the first donors to support Kensington and Chelsea Foundation’s appeal for donations following the fire.

The appeal, launched after the Grenfell Tower block became engulfed in flames during the night, is supported by London Funders and the London Emergency Trust Fund.

On its website , the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation said: “We are all devastated by the news of the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower and our thoughts are with everyone affected.

“You can be confident that 100% of your donation goes to local causes, to change local lives. We raise our core costs separately.

“Thank you so much for your support.”

A total of 12 people have now been confirmed dead after the fire ripped through the North Kensington tower block, with a further 50 injured.

A total of 45 fire crews and around 250 firefighters were called in to tackle the blaze, which continues to burn throughout the day.

The fire service has said the flames spread from the second floor to the top and police have confirmed they believe the death toll will rise.

To support those affected by the fire, getwestlondon has set up a fundraising page and is trying to raise £5,000.
