More than £15,000 has been raised in less than 24 hours as people rally to help those affected by the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower.

A fantastic effort by kindhearted donors has seen thousands given to our fundraising campaign to help those people whose lives have irrevocably changed following Wednesday's horrific fire in North Kensington.

12 people have been confirmed dead after the blaze tore through the 24-storey tower block in the early hours of Wednesday (June 14) as more than 200 firefighters battled to get it under control.

London Ambulance Service confirmed they treated 68 patients and took them to six hospitals across London.

18 people are currently in critical care.

As the horror of the news unfolded, people began to ask what they could do to help.

The tower block is thought to be home to hundreds of people and the survivors need your help in any way you can.

So we asked you, getwestlondon readers, to help us fundraise for those who have lost everything - their homes, their memories and tragically their loved ones.

And while the money can never replace those, it can help them rebuild.

Money has been pouring into our appeal and well-wishers up and down the country have responded in the most magnificent way, with one donor sending us a phenomenal £500.

Initially, we asked for £5,000 - a target that was smashed just short of seven hours.

But because of the incredible response we have had, we've now raised the target to £20,000.

So if you can afford it, even just £1, please show these people some love at this terrible time and donate at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/grenfell-tower-support.

Thank you.
