Brent Council has granted planning permission for 475 new homes at Wembley Park.

The new estate is the next phase in the regeneration of the 85-acre Wembley Park site by the developer Quintain, and construction is expected to begin next summer, with the first homes completed in 2016.

The new residential development will consist of seven buildings of various heights arranged around an acre of private, landscaped, gardens. There will be affordable housing as part of the development.

Quintain development director, Ben Giddens, said: "The development is gathering pace, and this planning consent moves us another step closer towards Wembley Park being a thriving destination and neighbourhood for all those who visit, live and work in the area."

The council's decision on December 11 is the latest milestone in the Wembley Park project. It follows the opening of the new London Designer Outlet, which introduces 70 new shops, 15 restaurants and a nine-screen Cineworld complex to the area.
