Great British Bake Off fans have got their cherry on the cake after exiting contestant Selasi announced he has plans to open a west London bakery.

Hearts broke across the country as city baker Selasi Gbormittah was eliminated from the Bake Off tent last night (Wednesday, October 19) after patisserie week didn't work in his favour.

The hugely followed contestant got a wave of reaction from viewers who felt he should have been allowed to get to the final, despite the judges voting his creation last in the technical challenge. He also got a frown from judge Paul Hollywood when his dish was underbaked in the first round.

But in an interview with The Radio Times , he said: "I do love banking but I'm hoping to open a bakery somewhere in west London in the foreseeable future."

And if that wasn't enough to appease his fans, he added: "My immediate adventure however, is a motorbike/baking tour across Europe which I'm currently planning.

"I hope to share all the recipes I learn in a book."
