An animal rescue charity is offering grants up to £10,000 to pet re-homing centres as part of a new grant scheme in 2016.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Support Adoption for Pets, which has centres in west London’s Brentford and Hillingdon , are urging any local animal re-homing charity giving abandoned and homeless pets a second chance for happiness, to apply for its new £4,000 grant or £10,000 grant.
The £4,000 grant - Helping Paws - has been introduced ahead of the law change on microchipping in April and there are 20 available with the donation to go towards items such as microchips and scanners.
For larger organisations the charity will also award 10 lots of £10,000 grants to rescues for renovation projects which can include improvements to paddocks, fencing, exercise areas or renovations to upgrade existing kennels, catteries and animal housing.
Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 10th Birthday than to introduce an exciting new grant scheme.
“We want to appeal to as many rescues as possible in offering financial aid as every re-homing centre is hugely worthwhile, particularly in its local area.”
Applications for both grants close on February 26.
