The Met Office forecasts widespread frost across London and the south east as wind drops off with lows for the region expected to be around -6C.

Tuesday (November 29) will be another dry and sunny day following on from a gorgeous day on Monday, but it will be a very frosty start to the day.

Maximum temperatures for Tuesday are only expected to be 7C so it will be well worth breaking out the scarf and gloves..

The Met Office said: “[Monday evening] dry and largely clear, with a widespread frost developing away from the Kent coast as the wind decreases to become generally light.

“The lowest temperatures will be in rural locations.”

“[Tuesday] dry and sunny, after a very frosty start.

“[Wednesday to Friday] Widespread sharp frost early Wednesday, then slowly becoming a little less cold for Thursday and Friday with fewer overnight frosts as cloudier conditions gradually arrive.

“Mainly dry with light winds.”

The Met Office also said there is a chance of snow in the UK on Christmas Day in its latest predictions over the weekend.

A statement posted online said: “High pressure is likely to dominate from mid December, with fairly 'blocked' conditions becoming established across the UK.

“This weather pattern would lead to drier than average conditions and lighter winds.

“Interludes of more unsettled weather are expected to be fairly limited, although these could still lead to some snow over high ground in the north.”
